Storm Brakes (Rail Clamp) for Outdoor Gantry Cranes in Egypt

Safety Storm Brakes (Rail Clamp)

A hydraulic rail clamp (storm brake) is used on gantry cranes to securely lock the crane onto the rail during strong winds, emergency stops, or when the crane is parked. By applying powerful downward force through hydraulic cylinders, the clamp grips the rail head and prevents any unintended movement, ensuring stability, safety, and protection against derailment. This system is essential for outdoor gantry cranes operating in open areas where wind loads and environmental conditions can cause the crane to drift or slide.

Wind Monitoring Anemometer

Real-time wind speed monitoring

  • Continuously measures real-time wind speed (m/s or km/h)
  • Sends data to the crane control system
  • Triggers warnings or automatic shutdown when wind limits are exceeded

Cable Reels & Drums

Power Feeding Cable Reels & Drums

Crane cable reel (cable reeling drum) is a power feeding system designed to transmit electricity from the grid to gantry cranes in a safe, continuous, and controlled manner. Thanks to its compact design, low maintenance requirements, and suitability for harsh operating conditions, it is widely used in outdoor applications and heavy-duty gantry crane systems.

Gantry Crane End Carriage

Gantry Crane End Carriage

End Carriage

The end carriage carries the gantry crane along the runway rails. Its welded steel frame houses the driving and idler wheel blocks, transferring the crane load to the rails while ensuring smooth, precisely guided long-travel motion at speeds of up to 160 m/min.

M4 – M5 / 1Am – 2m

The gantry crane end carriage frame is a welded steel structure manufactured from high-strength metal sheets and profiles. It supports the crane legs on the runway rails and operates at travel speeds of up to 160 m/min. Each standard carriage features a dual-wheel configuration consisting of one Driving Wheel Block and one Idler Wheel Block. Additional wheel blocks can be added when higher load capacity is required. The driving unit provides the necessary traction force through its motor-gearbox system, while the idler unit ensures precise guidance and balanced load distribution along the runway.

End Carriage Heavy Duty End Carriage

Gantry Crane Electrical Panel

Crane Control Gantry Crane Electrical Panel

The electrical panel has a protection class of IP55 or IP67, operates at 400V 50Hz as standard, with optional 460V 60Hz for special overseas use. It contains all crane control and safety components: contactors, thermal relays, limit switches, and signal devices, and is designed for −40°C to +70°C operation. For higher temperatures, a cooling system can be added to maintain performance and prevent faults.

Gantry Crane Power Feeding System

Power Feeding Closed Busbar System

Fully insulated, compact — indoor use

Enclosed busbars are conductors enclosed in a fully insulated protective casing. This design both enhances safety and offers a more compact layout. They are generally used in indoor environments.

Power Feeding Insulated Conductor

Economical indoor alternative

An alternative and more economical solution compared to the busbar system, suitable for indoor workshops, warehouses, assembly halls and normal environments. However, it has a shorter lifetime compared with the busbar system.

Power Feeding Open Busbar System

Copper or aluminium — high current capacity

Consist of uninsulated or partially insulated conductors. These busbars are designed for use in overhead lines or outdoor areas. They are manufactured from copper or aluminium and have a high current-carrying capacity.
